Questions for Rebekah!

I have this new ring of blogger friends who all have one friend in common, Angie Lindbloom.  To understand all the links among the group, read this post on Sarah's blog, "That's What She Said," which, incidentally, is the best name for a blog.

So Sarah started a fun game where we take turns asking each other questions. It's now my turn to ask Rebekah questions. So Rebekah -- here you go!

1. How did you meet Chris?
2. What did you do before you became a mom?
3. If you had a whole day to yourself without the kids, what would you do?
4. I now know that you have graphic design skills -- what do you like to design?
5. Do you have a police record?
6. Tell us how you first met Angie
7. Do you have any pets?
8. What is your favorite thing to wear?
9. Where do your kids get their red hair?
10. What is your favorite food?
11. What is your favorite holiday?
12. What are your hobbies?
13. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
14. What's your favorite movie?
15. Worst habit?
16. Favorite children's book?
17. If you have a fourth child, what will you name him/her?
18. How far apart in age are you and Sarah?

1. Where did you meet Chris?
I met Chris when I was 14 in our youth group at church. We had just moved to Kansas from Hawaii, a logical move for anyone, and I only had one friend and Chris was dating her. I thought he was a big jerk and he thought I was annoying and a tag-along---especially since all he wanted to do on a BIBLE RETREAT was to suck face with his girlfriend. Long story short, she moved away and lucky me, I got to suck face on a bible retreat a year later. We started dating when I was 15.
2. What did you do before you became a mom?
Before motherhood I was the community relations coordinator for a battered women’s shelter in Arlington. They have since merged with a shelter in Ft. Worth and are now SafeHaven. I did all their PR stuff and designed all print media.
3. If you had a whole day to yourself without the kids, what would you do?
I would sleep in, grocery shop, take a nap and see a movie.
4. I now know that you have graphic design skills -- what do you like to design?
I design the magazine for our church denomination currently. I really like doing invitations.
5. Do you have a police record?
Nope. Never even had a speeding ticket. Yawn.
6. Tell us how you first met Angie
I am soooo glad you asked this question because Angie HATES this story! On our first day of college we had Welcome Week. All the freshmen met in the huge chapel and we got divided up into Welcome Week Groups. I am pretty outgoing but I was intimidated by the whole college thing---not Angie. I sat in the mid/back of the chapel and Angie was smack dab in the front row center of the chapel. I remember seeing her stand up and scream and act crazy in front of all those people. I knew she and I would be friends.
7. Do you have any pets?
We had a cat named Millie. She and the devil were in cahoots. She was the worst cat ever. We had to put her to sleep when we had new carpet installed in our house. She had a throwing up problem and I’m not going to spend $6000 on carpet for an animal I hate to throw up on it. Chris took her in to the vet to have her put to sleep (killed) and when he said goodbye to her she hissed at him and tried to scratch him. I don’t miss her. Funny thing is that the people who live behind us have a cat that looks EXACTLY like her and the boys call her “new Millie”. I swear it’s her ghost.
8. What is your favorite thing to wear?
Capris and t-shirt
9. Where do your kids get their red hair?
The mailman. Ha, my sister has red hair and Chris has red hair genes on his side.
10. What is your favorite food?
Diet Coke—is that a food?
11. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas
12. What are your hobbies?
Ha! That’s a funny question.
13. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
That when I snapped my fingers my boys would immediately obey me. Get ready for me to try that power out on Saturday.
14. What's your favorite movie?
Nottinghill. I cry every time I watch it.
15. Worst habit?
Eating.
16. Favorite children's book?
You are My I Love You
17. If you have a fourth child, what will you name him/her?
Holy Crap
18. How far apart in age are you and Sarah?
3 years

As Rebekah's sister...I totally could add my own commentary to all of these answers...but I'll restrain myself and just call her later. The only ones I cannot resist is...
9. Really?!
14. Your answer makes it sound that you birthed a baby produced by me and Chris. First of all, gross. Secondly, I'll clarify...I have red hair so there's some sort of red hair gene in Rebekah, too. Match that up with Chris and you're good to go.

Oh yeah, and Jenny...thanks for the blog title comps. 'Preciate it. Jeremy wants/ed me to combine our blogs a long time ago...but I couldn't stand the thought of giving up my title.
Also, I like how you liked everyone up to their blog by their name...I didn't have the energy to do that last night on the Linkages blog.

Sarah--you don't know how many times I tried to rewrite that answer about red hair. Every time I did it it sounded like you were in the conception mix somehow so I just left it. Oh well.

Oh yeah, LOVE the blog name, Sarah. And no worries Bekkster (new nickname for you), I didn't think Sarah was involved with the conception when I read it. But y'all are too funny!

Yeah Rebekah, Jayme (friend from college) would be the one Chris would want involved:)
