Still not willing to "Give Peas a Chance"

Ah yes, the "peas" puns could go on forever. But I couldn't resist sharing a few more shots of Tate experimenting with this whole 'food' concept...

He may love Grandpa, but he doesn't love whatever Grandma is feeding him.

Born with a plastic spoon in his mouth.

And, a few happy shots just to prove that Tate is not always miserable....

"Peas on Earth"

...and Peas on Tate's hands and face and Jenny's hair...

Tate either loves or hates peas. You be the judge.

Asleep on the job

Tate came and helped me at work today for a few hours. After a long afternoon of banging out emails on my keyboard, he finally crashed mid-email on my BlackBerry. (If you received an email from me today that looked something like ja;skdj  jasaaaaaaa, you can thank Tate.)

How many times have I wanted to do this at work...

Another picture has surfaced

In my first post, I bemoaned the lack of pictures taken at my cousin Sara's wedding. Thanks to faithful reader "postdodson," another image has surfaced.

While it is still not quite what I was hoping for, at least you can see the peacock feather earrings, which, upon further (sober) inspection are not quite as fabulous as previously thought and actually look like a bad hair dye job. At least I do not appear to be wearing a green Vegas showgirl headdress as does my lovely sister, Nancy Beth. Sara, of course, is beautiful. And, contrary to the expression on my face, I do like her.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Rob, Big Guy and Poppy! Tate said "Da-Da" for the first time today. He said it very clearly 5-6 different times while looking right at Rob, so we know it's for real and not just babbling. What a Father's Day present! Click on the picture below to see some of my favorite pictures of Tate with his Dad and Grandfathers.

Meeting Baby Britton

We got to meet Baby Britton Giffen this week while his parents were in town. Britton has already had an incredible journey in his first five months on earth. You can read about it here. We were so honored to meet this little miracle! (oh, and it was nice to see his Mom and Dad, too! Emily was a good college friend with whom I shared a lot of laughs while working together at the student newspaper, living together at Old Weatherly, and interning together one crazy summer in DC.)

New Blog

Although I am a huge fan of my Mac, its Web publishing capabilities are limited, so I am crossing over to blogspot. You can still get to our old site here, but new posts will be made here instead.

So here is a ridiculous picture of Rob and me at my cousin Sara's wedding this past weekend. I share this picture because after all of the prep that went into getting ready for this wedding -- hair highlighted, new dress, nails done, fake tan and fabulous peacock feather earrings -- this is the only picture that was taken of us. We look like two 21-year-olds who are finally able to drink. Of course, since Tate was staying with a friend that night, it's kind of how we felt.

(10 points if you spot the guy picking his nose in this picture.)
